On October 7th, we kicked off our MUGA journey with the very first “Chaya and Chats,” and we had such a fun time together! Everyone got to meet the club officers, sip on some delicious chaya and snack on tasty treats.
Our Halloween festivities began with a thrilling Murder Mystery Night on October 28th! The officer team got into character, members solved clues, and worked together to crack the case, making for an unforgettable evening filled with suspense and excitement. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow club members, bond over the mystery, and enjoy some tasty treats.
MUGA’s movie night on November 4th at the Tate Theater was a memorable experience, featuring the heartwarming Malayalam film Premalu. The movie brought together club members for an enjoyable evening of romance and laughter, with plenty of opportunities to bond over the story and share delicious snacks. It was a wonderful way to celebrate Malayalam cinema and unwind with fellow MUGA members.
On November 18th, we continued our MUGA journey with another fun-filled “Chaya and Chats”! This time, we took things up a notch with a spirited game of Jeopardy that brought out everyone’s competitive side. Members enjoyed lively conversations, sipped on delicious chaya, and snacked on tasty treats while getting to know each other even better. It was an unforgettable evening of bonding, laughter, and learning!
On December 2nd, we celebrated the holiday season in style with MUGA’s festive Christmas Agosham! The evening was filled with joy and cheer as members indulged in payasam and delicious plum cake while partaking in a variety of exciting activities. The highlight of the event was the hilarious and creative Toilet Paper Saree Draping Contest, where participants showcased their ingenuity and flair. Alongside this, engaging games and laughter brought everyone closer together, making it a truly memorable evening. It was a perfect way to spread holiday spirit and strengthen our MUGA family bonds!
On January 14th, we kicked off the new year with MUGA’s vibrant New Year’s Welcome Event! The evening was a fantastic start to 2025, filled with excitement, laughter, and togetherness. Members enjoyed delicious snacks while participating in fun icebreaker games that set the tone for a year of great memories. The highlight of the night was the Bingo, where members played a kerala themed bingo. With music, games, and heartfelt conversations, the event brought everyone closer, making it the perfect way to embrace the new year as a united MUGA family!
On January 27th, MUGA hosted an empowering Self-Defense Night, equipping members with essential skills and confidence to stay safe. The evening featured an engaging workshop led by a certified MMA instructor, Jack Greene, who guided participants through practical self-defense techniques. Through hands-on practice and interactive demonstrations, attendees learned essential strategies for situational awareness and personal safety. The event was not only educational but also a great way to build confidence and camaraderie within our MUGA family. It was an unforgettable night that left everyone feeling stronger, safer, and more prepared!
On February 10th , Malayalees from all around campus came together for Mallus Mingle, an evening filled with laughter, nostalgia, and new friendships. From icebreaker games to decorating cookies and lively conversations over chaaya and snacks, the event was all about celebrating our shared culture and making meaningful connections. Whether it was reminiscing about Kerala, debating the best Malayalam movies, or simply enjoying the vibe, Mallus Mingle brought together a community that feels like home. It was a night to remember, and we can't wait for the next one!
On February 17th, MUGA hosted its first-ever Malayalam class, bringing together members eager to connect with their roots and learn the language. The session was filled with engaging activities, interactive lessons, and lots of laughter as participants practiced speaking, reading, and writing in Malayalam. From learning essential phrases to exploring the beauty of the script, the class was a fantastic way to celebrate our culture while having fun. On March 18th, MUGA and MSA came together for a meaningful Halaqah/Iftar collaboration, creating a beautiful evening of reflection, community, and delicious food. From insightful discussions to sharing a meal with friends old and new, the night was a perfect blend of connection and celebration. On March 25th, MUGA had our Bobmania Percentage Night, and it was a night to remember! From 3-8 PM, members stopped by to enjoy refreshing boba, catch up with friends, and support our community in the most delicious way possible.A huge thank you to everyone who came out and made this event such a success! On April 14th, MUGA came together for a special Vishu Celebration Meeting — and it was a night filled with tradition, laughter, and community! 🌼✨ Starting at 6:30 PM, members gathered to welcome the New Year, share festive memories, and enjoy the vibrant spirit of Vishu together.
On April 17th, MUGA held our Cali N Tito’s Percentage Night — and it was a fiesta to remember! 🌮🎉 From 5–7 PM, members stopped by to enjoy some amazing Mexican food, catch up with friends, and support our community with every bite.
On April 16th, MUGA and ICX (UGA Indian Cultural Exchange) teamed up for an Easter Ice Cream Social — and it was an evening full of fun, games, and sweet memories! 🍦🐣 From 6–8 PM, members enjoyed delicious ice cream, played cricket and badminton, hunted for Easter eggs, and had a blast with friends old and new.
On April 25th, starting at 6:30 PM, MUGA and Tamil Sangam came together to host our End-of-Year Formal — and it was truly a night to remember! 🎉✨ From the delicious food to the energetic dancing at the end, the evening was filled with celebration, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
We had the honor of recognizing our dedicated members and graduating seniors, as well as introducing our brand new executive teams for the upcoming year. Tamil Sangam did the same, making it a beautiful night of appreciation, reflection, and new beginnings for both of our communities.
We were also thrilled to have the event covered by The Red & Black, UGA’s official newspaper — a huge moment for our organizations as we continue to grow and share our culture on campus! 📰🌟
